Named after Wayne Gretzky, a famous Canadian hockey player who has a stake in the wine brand, No.99 is a reference to his former National Hockey League jersey number. This wine is made by Peller Estates from Vidal grapes harvested in the Niagara Peninsula while frozen.

Appearance:

(Sample 2012 vintage) Clear, deep coppery golden amber.

Aroma:

Pungent dried apricot, pineapple and mango, honey, demerara sugar and prunes.

Taste:

Rich and honeyed with intense fruit, apricot jam and orange marmalade.

Aftertaste:

Honeyed and dried pineapple and rich sultanas.

Overall:

Acidity struggles to balance intense jammy tropical fruit honeyed sweetness with apricot jam and orange marmalade.
