Founded by life-long friends, Pierre-Emmanuel and Xavier d’Audiffret Pasquier in 2014, they established Maison Sassy to promote and modernise Normandy cider.
The small batch ciders are made in the heart of Normandy using hand-picked apples sourced from orchards near the Chȃteau de Sassy according to a historic recipe used to made cider served at the Chȃteau.
Five varieties of traditional cider apples are used: Bedan, Doux Normandie, Frequin, Douce Moën, and Douce Coët Ligné. These are grown in orchards with loam and clay soils situated close to the forest.
