Established in 1882 by Jean Samalens, this firm is now run by his great-grandsons, Pierre and Philippe Samalens. The Samalens company is situated in the heart of the Bas Armagnac region in the small village of Laujuzan.

They operate four traditional armagnac column stills which have been un-modified for over 100 years except for conversion to gas heating in 1962. The spirit comes of these stills at 52% alc./vol.

Samalens alos operated four charentais copper pot stills which are used for double distillation with the lees to create more body and floral characters.

Uniquely for an Armagnac negociant, Samalens also make their own wine from grapes grown in vineyards within the Bas Armagnac region, so making Samalens, single estate armagnacs.

Single de Samalens proudly confirm that their products are bottled without any added sugar.
