John, a tried hard to discern cherry but couldn’t get there. Care to share your preferred brands?

I use Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur. The cherry taste is faint. I have found with most cherry liqueurs that the flavour and dissipate over time so I tend to buy smaller bottles. They do not go bad, only their taste gets lighter.
I also used absinthe from California (St. George) and using a gin also from California Grey Whale.
