Whisky usually sits better with lemon rather than lime, but I've tried both in this recipe and lime's distinctive zesty freshness adds to this cocktail...
I tried it with 10ml of lime. I'm used to using lime in stronger spirits like spiced rum, so it didn’t bother me. The Triple Sec hits up front, and the lime fades alongside the whiskey. Only the vermouth seemed a bit dull to me. If you’re using a large rocks glass, it might be worth increasing the vermouth to 20ml.
