Best to stir rather than shake. Or, put all ingredients and ice into shaker and seal, but rather than shake, turn the shake in a rolling motion upending each end in turn.

Great suggestion, thanks. Would this work for a Sazerac as well? I have thrown successfully in the past but just don’t do it often enough to be reliably confident.

Yes. Pretty much any stirred cocktail can be thrown. Interesting to compare the results of the two methods.
