I feel this should be on the Christmas cocktail list. Rich red fruits from the two wines, complex bitter and spice notes but still bright and easy to drink.

Agreed. I've now tagged it so it appears on our extended Christmas cocktails list.

Delicious. Rich vinous red wine, fruit and spice from the vermouth, citrus from the lemon zest and orange garnish .. I'm getting sangria notes (an exceptionally good one) rather than christmas. I will be revisiting this in six months, and every six months, to check.
