Cocchi Americano is definitely a favorite. I slightly prefer spirit-based liqueurs as the shelf life is longer. For vermouth or Cocchi, I store in the fridge, but even then it is important to use relatively quickly. Some favorite drinks that use Cocchi Americano: Cocchi Irlandese, Vesper, Corpse Reviver #2. Really, you can add it to any drink to cut the sweetness and add a little bitter goodness.

I recently invested in a Coravin Pivot, which helps preserve all the delicate (and expensive) vermouths and amari a lot longer.
