Yes, orange bitters should be stirred with other ingredients.

Made with Asbach 8y (German brandy, never drink any Asbach without an age statement though) and liked it a lot. Surprisingly chocolately despite not many drops of the chocolate bitters landing in the drink. Not too sweet, and almost not fruity at all. Flavors melded quite well.

Tried this with Crème de Noyau instead of Amaretto, and spiced chocolate bitters.

This is a great after dinner drink. It is a bit sweet, but not overly. The flavours of the Amaretto and Cherry Brandy balances well with the Cognac. This is not a drink for someone who wants the Cognac to be in the forward. Great.
