I had a friend give me the rest of his Picon Amer bottle, and I actually preferred the China China. Great addition to American whiskey based cocktails in place of an amaro or vermouth.

I also use it as a fairly decent substitute for Amer Picon, which is very, very hard to get in the US. I don't even know if it's possible.

Golden Moon Distillery in Golden, CO makes a reproduction which is quite delicious, though I have not had the original to compare it with.
