Perhaps Mr Tucci prefers shaken, which gives a slightly colder beverage, because he is using a 2-1-1 ratio rather than the traditional equal parts. I have been making my Negronis with the 2-1-1 ration preferring the boozier result. I haven’t tried shaking though.
I like the sherry nuance to a standard gin sour. Really quite nice. As I like my drinks on the boozy side I also tried with a full 2 oz of gin, Sipsmith, and liked it even more.
