I view the Last Word similarity others noted as a feature, not a bug. Yellow chartreuse brings so much more lovely complexity to this drink than the orange liqueur, and really makes this old classic sing.
Black Palmetto
Vermouth alla vaniglia, Martinique VSOP rum, Dark/black rum, Cynar/carciofo amaro, Orange bitters
Tried this with fresh-squeezed tangelo rather than mandarin, and I don't think I'd go back. Perfect blend of flavors.
