Appearance:
Clear, deep brown, almost black, opaque.
Aroma:
Pungent rootiness with liquorice, smouldering wood, rubber, lemon and faint blackcurrant.
Taste:
Volumptious, intense and assertive with sweet liquorice balanced by rooty herbal bitterness.
Aftertaste:
Tongue-numbing lingering aniseedy minty liquorice.
Overall:
A big-hitting, palate-wacking, liquorice-forward amaro that it's hard not to keep taking another sip off.
