Review

Owners Chris Flint and Kara Anderson were originally at something of a loss for a name for their new bar venture but during the refurbishment of this old whisky bonded warehouse they happened across an old painted sign on the back wall. Though distressed by age this clearly named their venue as 'Bond No.9' and plaque sign still sits proudly on the wall of what is now the conservatory.

Inside this huge warehouse is made homely by warmly lighting, low ceilings with thick wooden beams, exposed brick and comfy leather seating. Come summer the real draw here is the huge outside area, which straddles the dockside cobbles and old railway tracks.

There's a fair wine list but darlings, Bond No.9 is about champagne and cocktails. A choice of some 17 champagnes includes five available by the glass while the close to fifty cocktails listed run from the big name classics through to numerous house concoctions such as the wonderfully named Tartan Tiki. The enthusiastic bar team make all sublimely and deliver them with friendly, efficient service
