Review

This restaurant and bar lying just south of Dalston Junction has some big names behind it, including chef Stevie Parle, wine expert Ruth Spivey and Milk & Honey's Jonathan Downey.

What they have achieved is a welcoming and relaxed neighbourhood restaurant with a great cocktail bar. It is one of those rare venues that manage to get it right on both accounts.

Decor is polished, with a mix of vibrant blues, exposed brick and dark wooden surfaces. Perch at the end of the bar and you'll be given a panoramic view of the restaurant floor to watch the plates of mouth-watering food come scuttling out of the kitchen and you enjoy the extensive wine menu, half-Italian based, or one of the house cocktails.

Drinks were exceptionally well-made and while here you should at least sample a dish or two. The operation looks flawless and staff are amiable, knowledgeable and incredibly pleasant. Highly recommended.
