Pocket-sized bar from the folk behind 28 Hong Kong Street with a regularly changing concept

Brought to you by Proof & Co, the imports-to-consultancy company that operates 28 Hong Kong Street, Junior takes the speakeasy concept one step further: this tiny, well-concealed “pocket bar”, with just ten seats, is home to a regularly changing series of well thought out and faultlessly executed pop-ups.

The opening concept explored agave spirits, with an impressive selection of over 40 mezcals and rising 40 tequilas, plus stool, raicilla and pechuga, served in flights, contemporary cocktails and classic cocktails, accompanied by selected bar snacks. Next up came New Orleans, with a menu spanning the gamut from a Truffled Sazerac – with just the right hint of umami – to the Frozen Irish Coffee, the Tales of the Cocktail staple perfected at Erin Rose.

It’s worth booking ahead to guarantee a slot at the bar at weekends. While the address is Tanjong Pagar Road, the entrance is tucked away around the corner, through an anonymous-feeling back yard.
