Review

The Stone Street Coffee Company occupies a small storefront on Ninth Avenue in Chelsea. It looks unremarkable, with its espresso machine and pastry case, but an unmarked door in the paneling (with a red light above it) hints of the speakeasy behind. Bathtub Gin is a lush, spacious contrast to the stark coffee house, with flocked wallpaper and fringed lampshades.

And yes, there's an antique-style copper bathtub smack in the middle of the room, which tends to be the centre of picture-taking as the night goes on. Or you can plant yourself at the seven-seat copper-topped bar.
