Review

At first glance The White Hart is a fairly unassuming back street boozer but the Mitchell & Butler pub company have introduced a touch of 70s kitsch as part of it Metro Professional gastro makeover.

The old pub retains its dark wood panelling and a square island bar that takes up more of the space than a modern designer would allow, while mismatched gastro furnishings include old dining chairs, wooden tables and a few old bar stools. The low lighting is brightened by 70s light fittings and sparkly dangly bits.

An impressive parade of beer fonts includes two cask ales (London Pride and Sharp's Doom Bar) and posh foreign brews such as Sierra Nevada, Erdinger, Früli and Etsrella Dam. There's a further selection of quality bottled brews and a whopping 27 wines by the glass. Food ranges from sandwiches and bites to full blown gastro pub dishes.

This place is packed with after-work 20-somethings most nights we rave about the burgers. You might want to try one - if you can find a table to eat at.
