For 90 years, The Jekyll & Hyde was a working men’s pub, serving little more than Carling and cheese cobs. It’s now been transformed into a haven for cocktail connoisseurs, who are encouraged to meet up and praise at the alter of gin.
The Jekyll & Hyde retains the look of a British pub – think busy carpet, tasselled lamps and faux leather booths. But if you were going to the Jekyll & Hyde expecting a glitzy cocktail lounge, then you’d be going for the wrong reason.
The pub’s Gin Parlour contains 55 different gins, as well as a set of Sacred botanical distillates, with customers are encouraged to sit at the bar and create a gin according to their own flavour profile.
There are free, classic film screenings on Wednesday nights, talks by brand ambassadors on Thursdays, and then Friday is the ‘Gin’ll Fix It’ night, with delicious discounted cocktails, and a great community spirit in what is a very special Birmingham bar.
