Review

Located under the famous Red Fort restaurant in Soho Zenna Bar is the remodelled Akbar. Walking down the stairs to intimate space you are greeted with exotic decorations including a huge Indian stone pond floating with flowers and candles. The bar itself is a mixture of exposed brick and blue and white walls. There are three seating areas as well as the bar, two of which appear to be renovated cellars, shrinking into a low back wall.

The bar continues the Indian theme downstairs with the menu featuring a selection of incomparably mouth-watering snacks from the restaurants kitchen and a collection of spicy cocktails ranging from tingling to devilish and the Golden Dragon which requires a waiver form.

For the less fiery inclined they also create a wide range of cocktails and an Indian treat in the form of the lassi, fresh yoghurt blended with a mixture of flavours and available as an alcoholic beverage. Prices range is £5 - £27. The bar is usually relaxed and it can be easy to find a cosy corner to indulge, however, come Friday and Saturday night a DJ is brought in and the small space is turned into a dance floor transforming the atmosphere from unobtrusive to giddying heights of festivity.
