Snow Queen Vodka launched in the UK in 2004, followed by the USA in 2006. Snow Queen was relaunched in 2017 and is now made with "fully organic, based on organic wheat farmed inside the EU." Snow Queen is produced in Europe and bottled in France.

The original Snow Queen Vodka, launched in 2004, was made from wheat using a five column distillation process in Kazakhstan. It was hydrated using artesian spring water from the foothills of the Himalayas purified using reverse osmosis and sand filtration. The finished vodka was filtered using birch charcoal. The vodka's original website also mentioned use of 100% natural honey.

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Clean minerality and cracked black pepper. Faint hints of charcoal and aniseed.

Taste:

Clean engaging grainy minerality with cracked black pepper spice, faint aniseed and the merest hint of honeyed sweetness (perhaps added?).

Aftertaste:

Grainy, black pepper spiced finish with faint anise and charcoal.

Overall:

Snow Queen has clean grainy minerality and pronounced black pepper spirituous spice (desirable in Russian-style vodkas). Faint notes of aniseed and faint underlying sweetness.
