Launched in 1927, Rémy Martin V.S.O.P is a fine champagne cognac. As the first Cognac House to blend Petite Champagne and Grande Champagne cognacs to produce a fine champagne cognac, Rémy Martin V.S.O.P is considered a reference for this blend of crus.

The blend comprises some 240 eaux-de-vie (45% Petite Champagne and 55% Grande Champagne) aged 4-12 years, with the final year of ageing being a marrying period, after blending, in 60,000-litre vats.

Presented in an iconic satan-frosted deep green bottle since 1972 with a bold red label introduced late in 2005.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 03/04/2025

Appearance:

Clear, coppery golden amber.

Aroma:

Prune, fresh peaches, violets, vanilla, baked pears, nuts and roasted coffee beans with burnt butter, soft roast chestnuts and faint lemon zest oils.

Taste:

Cooked apricot and peach, dried fruit, nuts, cracked black peppery oak, bitter-sweetness with vanilla, faint maple syrup and liquorice.

Aftertaste:

Long, vanilla, dried fruit and delicately bitter resiny tobacco.

Overall:

The elegant and distinctive dark bottle with its gold stamp and red band holds a "fine" cognac that leads its category.
