Havana Club Selección de Maestros is a blend resulting from the collaboration between the Maestros Del Ron Cubano: the guardians of the historical character of Cuban rum.

Each of the Maestros gathers and selects the finest and most exceptional aged rums and after blending, these rums are further matured in barrels selected for the aromatic properties of their oak. This develops and character and intensity of the rums. The Maestros ten meet for a second selection of the rums that have perfectly matured. These rums create the final blend, bottled at a premium 45% alc./vol., the highest alcohol strength in Havana Club's Icónica Collection.

Appearance:

Clear, deep golden amber.

Aroma:

Cocoa, dark tobacco leaf, vanilla, toasty/burnt oak and toffee with nutmeg and cinnamon spice.

Taste:

Full-bodied. Cocoa, coffee, vanilla, burnt toast/charcoal, muscovado sugar, tobacco, nutmeg and cinnamon spice.

Aftertaste:

Delicate smoke emerges in the toasty finish with more cacao, coffee, tobacco, nutmeg and cinnamon spice.

Overall:

Well-balanced, with the blend disguising the premium 45% alc./ vol. on the palate. It's a toasty (rather than fruity) rum that would pair brilliantly with a Cuban cigar.
