First brewed in the early 1990s, like all other beers from Anderson Valley, Boont Amber Ale is unpasteurised. Boonting is a folk dialect from the Anderson Valley and is what inspired the name of the ale.

Boont Amber Ale is brewed using Pale Two-Row and Crystal malts with Columbus, Bravo, Northern Brewer and Mt. Hood hops. 16 IBU

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 02/11/2012

Appearance:

Cloudy deep amber with a long lasting thin creamy off-white head and heavy lacing.

Aroma:

Freshly baked bread, cold tea, caramel and burnt raisony Christmas cake with floral and grassy hops.

Taste:

Slight caramel and fruity yeast sweetness slightly overbalances floral grassy pine bitter hop bite. Full-bodied, bready and fruity with burnt sultana and raisons.

Aftertaste:

Burnt fruit and caramel with lingering floral and grassy dry hops.
