As the name suggests, this ‘Vintage Champagne’ is made only using grapes harvested in 2006, a year in which each season brought surprises for the wine growers of Champagne. However, September was hot, dry and sunny, providing the ideal conditions for the grapes to attain optimum ripeness.
Blended from some of Mumm’s most renowned vineyards, the signature high proportion (64%) of Pinot Noir was sourced from six crus (Aӱ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Verzy, Mailly & Verzenay), complemented by (30%) Chardonnay from two crus (Avize & Oger).
After bottling, the wine was aged for almost five years in the deep chalk cellars below the house in Reims. After disgorgement, the Champagne received a dosage of 6g/litre. Released in June 2013.
