Launched in July 2013, Opihr is a London dry gin with botanical flavours inspired by the ancient spice route such as cubeb berries from Indonesia, black pepper from India and coriander from Morocco. It takes its name from Ophir, a port mentioned in the Bible, renowned for its wealth.

Crystal clear.
Somewhat reminiscent of curry house spice with cardamom and turmeric, then piney juniper and cracked black pepper.
Piney juniper is more pronounced on the palate with assertive coriander, cardamom, turmeric and cracked black pepper spice.
Long coriander, turmeric and cardamom finish with lingering spice.
Most gins are spiced, but Opihr is heavily spiced. Piney juniper still prevails and Opihr is still recognisable as a gin, but as the label declares, it's a "oriental spiced London dry gin." It makes a tasty spicy G&T and can be used very creatively in cocktails. However, classic London gin lovers beware, this is not your kind of gin.
