Ish Gin is batch distilled using eleven botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, almond, orris root, nutmeg, cinnamon, cassia, liquorice, lemon and orange peel. These are macerated in grain neutral spirit for 24 hours prior to distillation.
The press release that accompanied the July 2011 UK launch of this gin starts: "A London Dry Gin with an Irresistible Scandalous Hallmark". It went on to say: "Staying true to its heritage, newly launched, super premium ish Gin returns to a traditional London Dry style but with a twist: an extra shot of juniper. Doesn't sound inherently "irresistible or "scandalous", especially with the name 'Ish' - spelt with a small 'i' on the bottle and the brand's communication material. It turns out this is yet another gin distilled under contract by Charles Maxwell at London's Thames Distillers.
Ish is packaged in a red glass bottle carrying messages including "ish is an attitude", "needs no excuses", "never apologisesand "very Brit". Again, hardly "scandalous". Ish Gin was founded by Ellie Baker and Fran Ameijeiras of The Poshmakers Ltd, owners of 'Bristol Bar' in Madrid, a bar which boasts the largest range of gins in the city.

Crystal clear.
Heavy juniper nose with delicate coriander and a slight soapy (carbolic) aroma.
Hefty juniper palate with prickly pepper heat, bitter orange oils and gentle parma violet (iris) sweetness.
Finish is a continuation of the palate with lasting juniper, piney bitterness. Despite the cringe-making marketing, a decent gin.
