Following the success of No. 209 Kosher for Passover Gin, the folk at 209 decided to launch a Kosher for Passover vodka.

Kosher dietary laws prohibit leavened grains and so the use of a grain spirit. Hence 209 Vodka is made using four times, column-distilled South African Kosher sugar cane spirit. This is diluted from 96% alc./vol. to 60% alc./vol. prior to filtering through two meters of activated charcoal. The spirit is pumped up the column from the bottom to prevent the spirit finding easy paths as it trickles down through the charcoal as tends to happen with gravity led charcoal filters. This filtration is repeated five times. Finally the vodka is diluted back to bottling strength with more purified water. Production is supervised by a Rabbi from the Orthodox Union to confirm to the strict Kosher dietary laws.
