(Originally named Kina L'Avion d'Or) L'Aéro d'Or translates as The Golden Aéroplane and this white wine based bittersweet aperitif’s label pays tribute to the first flight across the English Channel by Frenchman Louis Blériot in 1909 using his newly invented monoplane.

Based on white wine made from Piedmont-grown Cortese grapes infused with Cinchona bark (quinine), orange peel, wormwood and other unspecified spices. Kina L'Aéro d'Or is a modern day recreation of the late 19th to early 20th century French aperitif wines known as quinquinas or kinas, created to make quinine more palatable for French soldiers fighting in the malaria plagued colonies.

Recommended by Tempus Fugit for use in cocktails such as 20th Century, Vesper and Corpse Reviver #2.
