As the Wasted name may suggest, this “farmhouse ale” was brewed using 120kg of waste pears, croissants and brioche. Its sustainable credentials continue with packaging in recyclable glass. The hops and malt used in its production were also used by a local farmer for use as feed and fertiliser.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 16/12/2016


(sample bottle BBE April 2019) Hazy, sandy yellow with very thick retentive off-white head and heavy lacing.


Stewed pear and cider apple, white bready malt and straw.


Brown bready malt, pear, tart apple, zesty lemon and straw.


Dry, tart, lightly white pepper spiced finish with not-quite-ripe pear.


Pleasing pear and apple fruit, bready malt and light white pepper spice. A tasty beer produced from food destined for waist.
