Brewed in 2017 to a 1914 Courage recipe but with the brew split into 3 different batches: 1/ a classic British imperial stout without additions. 2/ and 3/ with ingredients added to enhance and compliment the flavours already there in the original beer but undisclosed by Partizan.

Appearance:

(sample bottle BBE 08/Feb/18 - we believe batch 1) Opaque, pitch black with wafer thin but retentive tan head.

Aroma:

Dark roasted malt, coal dust, liquorice and dark chocolate.

Taste:

Full-bodied. Dry and lightly bitter, charred malt, coal dust, tar, liquorice, bitter chocolate, mocha coffee, resinous pine and dry roasted nuts.

Aftertaste:

Dry, mildly bitter finish with roasted nuts, chocolate and tar.

Overall:

Chocolaty dry roasted malt, coal dust, liquorice and tar.
