Released in July 2016 as a new addition to the Plantation Rum core range, Old Fashioned Traditional Dark (O.F.T.D.) is a blend of rums from Jamaica, Guyana, and Barbados.

Appearance:

Clear, mahogany amber with red tints.

Aroma:

Pungent, burnt currants and caramelised brown sugar with zesty orange, vanilla, coffee, chocolate and overripe banana. A splash of water opens this rum up with vanilla, grilled pineapple and Christmassy spice.

Taste:

Spicy and fruity with notes of plum, currant, molasses, vanilla, dry oak and charcoal with nutmeg, clove, cinnamon and black pepper spice. Faint smoky notes. Water tames spice exposing more burnt notes.

Aftertaste:

Clove, cinnamon, black pepper spice and burnt currant.

Overall:

Powerful, characterful, fruity and spicy with burnt currants, molasses, scorched dry oak, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon and black pepper spice.
