Review and Tasting

Sampled on 27/11/2018

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden.

Aroma:

Toasted biscuit and aniseed with subtle charcoal and cut grass. Faint dung.

Taste:

Sweet and syrupy, balanced by spirituous spice, biscuity herbal notes, and dry toasty oak with assertive aniseed. Subtle dark chocolate.

Aftertaste:

Aniseed and vanillered oak with light vanilla and dark chocolate.

Overall:

The packaging design is disappointing and the spirit, which maybe sweet enough to be considered a liqueur, is polarising. If, you like aniseed then you may love this product, and if you’re from a Mediterranean country then we suspect you’ll appreciate Cadello. We like its biscuit, chocolate and clean aniseed flavours. However, we suspect readers in the UK and North America will find Cadello less endearing.
