L'Orgeat is billed as being the "first natural & shelf-stable orgeat liqueur" and is made with a blend of three varieties of almonds grown on family-owned farms in California.

The nuts are dry-roasted with their skins on in Brooklyn, New York City, then infused in cane-neutral spirit. The resulting infusion is flavoured with "a secret ratio of floral waters" and sweetened with organic cane sugar.

Discovered in October 2022 at Bar Convent Berlin (BCB).

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 27/10/2022

Hazy/cloudy, deep brown amber.

Toffee, caramel, toasted almond and buttery blanched almond.

Thick viscous mouthfeel. Buttery toasted almond, cacao, carob and coffee notes. Balance is helped by mild spirituous peppery spice.

Long, buttery toasted almond with a hint of spice.

Rich and indulgent when drunk neat but this orgeat liqueur is designed for mixing in cocktails. It packs a more toasty nutty flavour than commercial syrups and is easier and more consistent than using homemade orgeat.
