A Caribbean-inspired rum distilled in Northamptonshire, in the heart of the English countryside, using an innovative distillation process.
Until the 2020 Covid pandemic, James Singlehurst was a farmer. He still is. But now, James is also a distiller.
He set out to make something far more challenging than gin and had always been into rum, so after much research, he set about converting a redundant building on his farm into a distillery and was granted his distiller's license on 8th July 2022. Inspired by the traditional Jamaican rum production methods, James set out to mirror these in his new distillery.
James' wife, Julie, came up with the Revival Rum name and its logo of a Phoenix rising from the ashes. This signifies resilience and recovery after the Pandemic.
Revival rum is made with cane molasses mixed with water, yeast nutrients and distillers' yeast to start fermentation. The wash from the converted IBC fermenters is transferred to the double retort, Caribbean-style copper pot still. During distillation, the spirit flowing from the condenser is cut to select "only the most flavourful spirits."
As well as this unaged, pure cane spirit, James is filling various cask types, including ex-bourbon, Pedro Ximenez sherry, and Madeira finished casks to produce aged rums. Typically, the casks are filled with rum at 63.5% alc./vol. and will be left to rest in a dunnage-style warehouse for at least two years before the rum is ready for bottling.

Crystal clear.
Grassy, hay, summer meadow with a touch of liquorice. Light funk.
Grassy, earthy and characterful with ripe apricot fruit funkiness and light black pepper spice.
Overripe pineapple emerges in the long grassy finish with an attractive earthy spice.
Revival Rum makes a delicious Daiquiri and has the character to add much when used alongside other rums in Tiki cocktails.
