Pomona takes its name from the Roman goddess of fruit and is a blend of apple juice and cider brandy from the apple orchards of Kingsbury Episcopi, aged for two years in oak casks.
Pomona is designed to be drunk after dinner like a port with a good cheese - preferably cheddar cheese. Its makers urge that Pomona is served and stored at room temperature - not refrigerated.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 24/09/2011

(bottle No. P11 05148) Clear, bronze-amber with burnished copper highlights.

Toasty, very lightly smoked, nutty stewed apple and fruit cake nose with fresh strawberry aromas.

Sweet, lightly spirited apple and strawberry fruit palate balancing oaky, tea tannins and sharp apple juice flavours.

Short, elegantly fruity more please finish.
