This 25 year old Dalwhinnie was distilled in 1989 at a time condensers were in use rather than worm tubs. This release was drawn from 29 casks filled over four days.

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden amber.

Aroma:

Cardamom and clove spice with dried orchard fruit, overripe banana and vanilla.

Taste:

Rich dried fruit and vanilla balanced by clove spiced dry oak. Faint notes of aniseed and meatiness. Water reveals citrusy fruit, hints of sulphur and amplifies dry oak and spice.

Aftertaste:

Liquorice emerges in the long spicy finish with lingering dried fruit.

Overall:

Orchard fruits with a touch of vanilla, spice and aniseedy liquorice. Attractive underlying meatiness.
