Review and Tasting

Sampled on 12/03/2016

Appearance:

Clear, mid-golden amber. Faint haze with water.

Aroma:

Slightly burnt toast, pencil shavings, chocolate and nutmeg with mocha coffee, pear tart and cinnamon. Lemon zest emerges with water.

Taste:

Rich and full-bodied with an almost creamy mouthfeel. Toasty malt, brioche, dark chocolate with zesty citrus, baked pear and black pepper spice. Takes water well, revealing delicate lavender and orange fondant creams.

Aftertaste:

Long, toasty finish with lingering chocolaty spice and creamy fudge.

Overall:

Well-balanced, full-bodied and generous with toasty malt and dry spicy oak balanced by a sweet creaminess with notes of dark chocolate, brioche, pear tart. With a splash of water delicate lavender and orange fondant creams are revealed.
