A blend of rums from Barbados, Guyana and Jamaica, Black Tot is unsweetened and non-chill filtered. Black Tot is matured in ex-bourbon barrels in the Caribbean and bottled in Scotland, UK.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Clear, mid-deep golden amber.

Aroma:

Pungent. Linseed oil putty, banana leaf, pineapple, boatyard varnish and orange marmalade.

Taste:

Full-bodied. Cinnamon, clove and ginger spice, dry oak, dried pineapple and coffee beans/bitter chocolate.

Aftertaste:

Long finish with tropical fruit, vanilla, clove spice and bitter chocolate.

Overall:

Black Tot is pungent and full-bodied and of classic British Navy rum style but sadly falls a little short of being Navy strength at a still assertive 46.2 alc./vol.
