Review and Tasting

Sampled on 24/12/2014

Appearance:

(sample 2012 vintage, best before 11-May-12) Cloudy, deep, chestnut reddy-brown with thin off-white head and spotted lacing.

Aroma:

Brown bread, molases, pine hops, toasted malts and mocha coffee.

Taste:

Toasted bready malt, bitter spruce hops, mocha coffee and clove spice.

Aftertaste:

Bitter spruce needle, toasted nutty malt with nutmeg and cloves. A big beer with a high alcohol content, but balanced and surprisingly quaffable.
