Review and Tasting

Sampled on 26/10/2018

Appearance:

Clear, mid golden amber.

Aroma:

Barbecue charcoal, buttery malted barley, dried pineapple and French banquette crust with faint sulphur and clove spice.

Taste:

Slightly sweet, vanilla, coal dust and new leather with clove and cinnamon spice. Sweeter and more fruity with water.

Aftertaste:

Faint smoke and sulphur – match box striking strip emerges in the long charcoal and coal dust finish.

Overall:

Age and generous fruit tames Graigellachie, making this big malt both approachable and highly desirable.
