Blossoms Syrup offers intense natural flavour, colour and aroma achieved through a unique process. As founder Aude Dupont Dudley explains, this makes them valuable ingredients for cooking, drizzling and making drinks.
"When making a syrup, fruit and sugar are combined and cooked. However this process removes the colour, aroma and balance between sweetness and fruitiness. To correct this, artificial colours and flavourings are usually added.
Blossoms Syrup on the other hand, is the only non heat-treated syrup range on the market. The production process simply uses great quality raw material and then adding sugar to preserve the range. No heat or cooking process is applied to the syrups."
When Aude founded the company in 2010, the initial range was made up of six fruit syrups: blackcurrant, grenadine, passionfruit, pineapple, strawberry and raspberry. Fast forward to 2020 and the range has been extended to 15 flavours in total, including Elderflower.
The fruit range is made from premium fruit concentrates, inverted sugar (natural sugar from beet and cane) & natural citric acid. The Elderflower syrup is made from flower water infusion and natural citric acid.
The syrups are suitable for vegans and may be stored for up to 15 months in ambient conditions.
A versatile and sustainable ingredient
"The advantage of some of my syrups, for example the lime syrup, is that it is a very practical ingredient because you have the fresh lime and the sugar and nothing has been cooked so you end up with the intensity, the acidity and the fruitiness of fresh fruit without having to press the juice, without having to cook it, without having to mix it and resulting as the perfect combined ingredient.
And in fact, all my syrups follow the same principle of really good combined fruit base and sugar. With my lime syrup, I'm really pleased to say that it makes an amazing Gimlet and of course Mojito.
My syrups are not just good for drinks, you can also cook, eat or drizzle them. They have the consistency of honey that makes it a really versatile ingredient."
