The two entrepreneurs behind Tequila brand Suerte, Laurence Spiewak and Lance Sokol, acquired the Tequilera Simbolo distillery in October 2013. Suerte has been produced at Simbolo since its launch and following their acquisition it is now the only tequila produced at the distillery. Simbolo was formerly owned by the family of Suerte's master distiller, Pedro Hernandez Barba who retains his stake in Suerte following the distillery’s change of ownership.
