Review

A newly launched multifaceted venue for Hackney which combines lives music, food and drink. Tucked away beside Hackney Central overground inside a large brick building, the space is already jammed packed despite having launched a mere few weeks ago.

Rather than heading towards the music/club area it's the restaurant with its lengthy bar, dominating the left-hand side of the venue, that serves the drinks. Inside there are scattered tables, a few booths and an exposed brick wall but its the lighting shades which catch the eye, sheer wafting material drapes the low-hung lights providing a stylish central feature.

On draught there are plenty of craft beers, from London locals Sambrook, Redemption, Five Points and Crate to Seattle's Red Hook. Wines varieties are well represented and there's even a selection of fortified wines to wash dinner down. The kitchen offers up a delightful mix of bar sliders and plates to the more hefty sit-down meals. As the evening draws on the space becomes quite packed and sitting at the bar less of an option. From there it's easy to head to club space and enjoy the music.

As an all-rounder venue we found Oslo to serve well as an earl evening relaxed space for dinner and drinks with friends before morphing into an atmospheric enjoyable bar. A great edition to the Hackney scene.
