This non-aged-statement The Glenlivet launched in March 2015 replaces The Glenlivet 12 Year Old as the brand's entry level core expression. Predominantly drawn from ex-bourbon casks with selective use of first-fill American oak casks, Founder’s Reserve honours The Glenlivet’s founder George Smith.

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Green apple, cereal, fruit cake, creamy orange and apricot with faint pear drops, sea salt and vanilla. Water reveals more orange zest.

Taste:

Red apple, toffee apple, Barley sugar, pear and cleansing zesty citrus with vanilla, cracked black pepper and faint creamy chocolate ice-cream.

Aftertaste:

Barley sugar, red apple and black pepper with chocolate ice-cream and faint anise. More appley with water.

Overall:

Glenlivet's entry level core expression is presented in attractive baby blue packaging, and it is a generally appealing malt with notes of apple, pear and chocolate ice-cream.
