Review and Tasting

Sampled before 1st May 2011

Aroma:

Soot and peat smoke but with a honeyed sweetness.

Taste:

Huge palate that is initially a little reminiscent of sucking on salty coal. Palate opens to reveal sweet honey, black pepper, bitter chocolate and oaky nutty notes.

Aftertaste:

Big and rewarding finish with honeyed, sooty smoke. There will be many that morn the demise of the slightly gentler and well regarded 15 year old but dye hard Laphroaig fans will be rejoicing the introduction of this eye wateringly smoky Laphroaig expression.
