This Sri Lankan Lion lager is unrelated to the better known Lion lager from South Africa. It is the main product of the Lion Brewery, which thanks to Michael Jackson, is revered amongst beer enthusiasts for its Lion Stout.

Appearance:

(bb Nov-12) Clear, mid golden amber with medium-large white head.

Aroma:

Toasted cereal with grassy vegetal aromas.

Taste:

Medium bodied as lagers go with toasted corn and bitter stewed spinach-like vegetal hop notes.

Aftertaste:

Mild, lingering vegetal bitterness. A darn site more flavoursome than many lagers but lacks crispness being somewhat flabby.
