Inspired by Alpine Europe, Highland Boundary's Larch and Honeysuckle spirit is made by redistilling handpicked spring larch buds and summer honeysuckle flowers. This botanical spirit is distilled in a copper pot still in the same way traditional gins are made.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 10/10/2020

Appearance:

Crystal clear. [Sample bottle from batch No. 002]

Aroma:

Pungent pine and floral honeysuckle with faint lavender-like scents.

Taste:

Larch imparts pine-like flavours that are not so removed from the piney juniper notes that flavour gin. This combines with floral notes that are perhaps more lavender-like than might be expected from honeysuckle.

Aftertaste:

Lingering larch with delicate spice.

Overall:

When mixed with tonic water, this larch and honeysuckle flavoured botanical spirit make an interesting and refreshing alternative to a G&T.
