Positioned as a mid-point between Italian bitters liqueurs and rosso vermouths, Savoia Americano is a bittersweet (amaro dolce) vino aperitivo made with oak-aged D.O.C. Marsala Fino wine.
Savoia is made in Turin with 20 predominantly Italian botanicals, including artemisia, rhubarb and gentian root. Bitter orange, pink grapefruit, bergamot, mandarin, aloe, cardamom, ginger, and quassia wood are also notable ingredients. Flavour extraction techniques include maceration, distillation and cold-extraction. The base wine is a blend of Trebbiano (Ugni Blanc) and a 14-month oak-aged DOC Marsala Fino. The recipe was inspired by the "Bitter di Milano" recipe from the late 1800s.
Named after the royal family of Italy, the Royal House of Savoia, the brand pays homage to their role in both popularising vermouth and the unification of Italy in 1861. (Hence Savoia Americano's 18.6 alc./vol.)
The distinctive bottle, designed by Stranger & Stranger, is inspired by the four-faced dome of La Mole Antoneliana, the most iconic building in Turin.
The creation of Giuseppe Gallo, the drinks entrepreneur behind Italicus, Savoia Americano was launched in September 2021.

Clear, pale red with an orange tint.
Zesty orange, gentian, red grapefruit, wormwood, quinine, cream-of-soda vanilla, cherryade, rosemary, and black pepper.
Bittersweet with assertive bitterness perfectly balanced by rich citrus and berry fruitiness (grapefruit, orange, cherry, and strawberry). Deep herbal complexity extends beyond bitterness with rosemary-like notes most obvious.
Very long finish. Leaves your lips sticky while herbal bitterness lingers on the centre of your tongue.
Beautifully conceived and executed. A bitter red liqueur meets concentrated dry vermouth with dialled-up quinine and gentian.
