Hoegaarden’s Speciale is similar to regular Hoegaarden Witbier except it is re-yeasted in the bottle at a higher temperature. It’s only available in Belgium from October to late January and is brewed with wheat, barley malt, hops, herbs and pure spring water.

Appearance:

Cloudy, pale straw yellow with thin white head.

Aroma:

Yeast, coriander and lemongrass.

Taste:

Overripe banana, black pepper corn, yeasty bread and subtle cloves.

Aftertaste:

Yeasty bread and black pepper corn.
